Ada Zevin
Painter Ada Zevin occupies a special place in the development of arts in Moldova. Her highly cultured works is rooted in the experience of the French and Romanian post-expressionist painting, which she absorbed early on during her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania. This experience is complemented by the artist’s profound understanding of Moldovan folk art, which fostered her own, completely original style.
In her work the artist uses all means of expression--classical as well as modern. The pith of her art, though, is the cultivation of chosen harmonies of color and in the emphasized expressiveness of the line.
