Due to the new technologies there is a variety of means available to the artist, which can be summarized under the term „multimedia."
In my case, sculpture was a starting point, which contained in itself the idea of „form" as essence and which later evolved into a wider variety of genres: video, photo, action, performance, etc.; they became an inner need to balance form and artistic expression.
My recent investigations are related to the relationship between ideology as a form of domination/manipulation and shamanism as an archaic form of a similar effect. This particularly concerns a number of historic personalities and events from Mongolia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzia, which marked the historic past of those countries.
Their role and influence can be revized and investigated under a number of aspects and represent subjects of some experimental pieces based on documentary, archive materials. This can be seen in the video piece „Cold Mind, Clean Hands and Hot Heart," which is based on a similarly-titled performance.
The video „Cold Mind, Clean Hands and Hot Heart" is an interpretation of the slogan used by F.E.Dzerzhinski, also called The Iron Felix; the piece is an incursion into the legendary past of Mongolian revolutionaries Choi Balsan and Suhe Bator, who were used by the NKVD as instruments to instal a bolshevik ideology in Mongolia, which resulted in the creation in 1924 of a regime at Ulaanbataar.
The performance „Electric Three" can be seen as an action in which the object „three" exists as an object in itself. This performance is in fact the remix of a Siberian ritual by which a greenhorn was turned into a shaman by a lightening strike. This can be presented also by documenting photographically a cultural or political „shamanism," depending on who's playing in this remixed riatual-a simple person, a political leader or head of state, an ideologist or charismatic leader.
